Methodist Passover Dinner

Biblical Costume House enjoys getting emails from our customers explaining some of their traditions or giving us suggestions on other costumes. It is interesting to read how our costumes and products are used in their holiday celebrations. We are also interested how your celebrations are carried out during these holidays. Please email us with your thoughts.

Below is one of those email we have received. They included a list from their Minister at their church of the proceedings associated with Passover according to the Methodist Church.

On Thursday evening before Easter Sunday my husband and I enjoyed a very delightful evening at our church.  Our Methodist Minister lead all that attended in an adaptation of a Passover Dinner similar to the dinner celebration Jesus may have had with his disciples (The Last Supper).

What we saw when we arrived were several round tables with seating for 8 to 10 people and one long table (Seated at this table was our Minister and others that were going to assist in the dinner). The tables were covered with white linens and in the center of each table was a pitcher of water, a pitcher of grape juice, a platter containing parsley (The Karpas), horseradish and "Charoses".  On the table, we also had a small bowl of water (we later discovered that this was actually a very salty water) and a basket of "Matzoh".  Each place setting had one small plate holding a hard boiled egg, a plastic knife, spoon, fork, a cup for water, and a very small glass for Wine (grape juice was used).

Please note that a traditional Seder Meal will include matzo, bitter herbs, a roasted egg and greens.  The meal will probably be served in the Family Dining room.

You are welcome to used the attached Passover adaptation and celebrate the "Last Supper" at your church.  You may certainly change or modify to meet your needs.
